ORTE (Open Real Time Ethernet) 是 Real-Time Publish-Subscribe (RTPS) 通讯协议的开源实现。RTPS 是一个新的应用层协议，面向实时通讯领域，基于标准的 UDP 堆栈构建。现在已经有很多支持不同操作系统的基于 TCP/IP 堆栈实现，而 RTPS 不针对指定硬件和软件要求，可轻松移植的目标平台，而且只适用 UDP，它保留了控制时间和可靠性。
