FOSDEM 2020 Program: Come Meet the Team

One of our favorite events in Europe every year is FOSDEM . The open source community hosts this free event each year in Brussels over the first weekend of February. Over 8,000 open source enthusiasts gather on the campus of Université Libre de Bruxelles to enjoy a stunning array of talks.

Catch Percona’s Team in Action

We’re really pleased that once again the FOSDEM organizers have granted us a table in one of the expo halls . If you are interested in open source databases, you should head to building K level 1 where you’ll find the Percona table alongside PostgreSQL, YottaDB, and PostGraphile. With the event being so busy, it’s a great idea that similar projects occupy shared space.

Why not drop by the stand and talk to the staff there? Most of Percona’s talks are on Saturday, February 1, so Sunday should be a great day to track people down.

Not to mention that you can pick up stickers and collect this year’s version of the coveted Percona project beer mats, specially made for FOSDEM to honor one of Belgium’s finest industries.

Social Activities Around FOSDEM

With all those people descending on the city, it’s also a great opportunity for networking and the satellite events – such as Oracle’s pre-FOSDEM MySQL days organized by Community Manager Frédéric “LeFred” Descamps – are legend. Percona is proud to sponsor the traditional community dinner at this event, alongside other MySQL corporate contributors.

Also, on Sunday, February 2, MariaDB is holding their inaugural MariaDB Day at a nearby venue. Peter and Sveta will be making a contribution to that program.
